Beauty is found everywhere - in chaos, in works of art, in the life of animals and beyond the eyes of people. I guess the elements in this photograph represent all of that. ♥

“THIS IS JUST A TEST”
Model: Jason Tia
Photographer: Hanah Natalio-Fadrigalan
This is one of our chosen favorites. For a candid shot, this actually turned out nice — very sharp focus and the depth of field is just on point. It’s also my first test shot from Jason’s 18-200 zoom lens. I only did minor edits including color correction from LR 4.

Alongside Jason is my stunning, talented and ever gorgeous friend Adriana - she coaches models (both for print and runway) and a celebrated fashion designer in the Metro Boston area. If you ever need some “directions” all her information are on her website: www.dribyadriana.com ♥

Side Note: When I was studying at Latin Academy, we translated a Latin love story written by Ovid, called “Pyramus and Thisbe” - this is about two ill-fated lovers who only communicated through the wall because their parents are - what we would call - overprotective. This is my modern interpretation of that. ♥

For this post, I want to feature Motives beauty consultant and also a really good friend of mine, Mai Linh Nguyen. In addition to owning her salon and spa right after college, she is also a fabulous make-up artist - visit her at http://www.spagloss.com/

Shoot Location: Boston Public Library Indoor Garden
Shoot date: May 1, 2012
Models: Jennifer Chen and Evelyn Leong
Photographer: Hanah Fadrigalan (@GirlAlaMode)
Hairstylist: Jessenia Lockward
Theme: Roaring Twenties
It was a rainy Tuesday afternoon when we decided to shoot this project. Ideally, I was wishing for a bright, sunny day - I already had the shots ready on my mind. As a photographer though, we have to deal with whatever is given to us, and then make the best out of it. Since we cannot do outdoor shots, we went inside the indoor garden instead (it still gives us the outdoor scene). Plus, I certainly don’t want my models to get rained on. I highly value the health of my models and crew. We also took advantage of the antiquity of the place, it was perfect for the theme. Boston truly is such a classic city.
A special thank you to our stylist: Jessenia Lockward, a professional Boston hairstylist, holding nine years of experience in the fashion industry. She specializes in runway shows, weddings, formal events, curly tresses/ethnic hair/extension services and other various occasions. She currently works at Marc Harris (115 Newbury St Boston,MA). For appointments, you can contact her at 617 262-2222.
Benson Tang, my co-shooter for the day, also took some wonderful shots at the venue. He is a photographer for Asian Boston and NiHao Magazine.
