“Average Faces From Around The World”

Finding the average face of people across the world was a tough job but someone had to do it. This guy basically takes a thousands and thousands images of everyday people from any city and the software makes an ‘average’ of the people, giving one final portrait. Take a look at this amazing project called “World of Facial Averages.”

For full article, click here.

Does anybody else notice how beautiful every single one of these people are?

average is actually quite attractive…

Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of my grandmother and how she would always console me when I am feeling down. I am feeling so sad right now, but not lonely.

Though I am by myself here in such a foreign place, I am never alone because I know that God is always there for me to raise me up when the world seems to be challenging my spirits.

I am strong when I am on His shoulders.

He will raise me up to more than I can be.

The world infront of me is so unknown but I know that God will be my light and my guide. He will make sure that I am taken care of, He will remind me that I am blessed and I am in good hands.

“We both still got room left to grow
And though love sometimes hurts
I still put you first
And we’ll make this thing work
But I think we should take it slow.”

Clinton Foundation: A Decade of Difference - Recap

It was an honor to attend the Clinton Foundation event tonight. A lot of celebrities were there such as (yes, I’m going to name drop!) Lady Gaga, Usher, Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Siegel, Bono, Canon, Juanez, Stevie Wonder, and of course the Clintons. More than seeing these artists perform, a bigger sense of responsibility came to me as I sit there to watch them. It has always been a passion of mine to help others and help change the world for the better.

There would be times when I just sit, sulk and complain about my life… but looking at a bigger picture, I really have nothing to complain about because there are people out there who needs help, there are people out there who have way more things to worry about, there are people out there who are way less fortunate than me. Comparing myself to them…I realized that I have a lot already. I have everything I need already. I have nothing to ask for.

Today, I learned that just because you don’t see the unfortunate things that are happening in the world, it doesn’t mean that they’re not there — we have to open all our senses to be able to understand what these people are going through. Open your eyes. Hear them out. Feel their pain with your heart. Extend a hand and help another person. I’m not talking about just monetary contribution, but another priceless thing you can give is your time. A few hours of volunteer work can help thousands and thousands of people.

Be a blessing to others, I think that’s the purpose of life here on earth.

Use Your God-Given Personality

It is true that you become closer to God when you are away from everything. Well, not literally being alone in the middle of nowhere.. but at this point of my life, I am away from the comfort zone, I am away from home, I am away from loved ones — but I never felt like I was in complete solitude, and it is because God is always there for me wherever I go. He gives me and supplies me with all the things that I’ll ever need in my life. He answers all my prayers, if not right away, He prepares me for it first and then He gives it to my when He thinks I can handle it.

Today, my friend Bleejay and I went to the church near our school. Though tired and feeling sick, I managed to get up and walk to church (in heels, yes) but it was so worth it. The lesson today was about using one’s God-given personality to the glory of the Lord. I learned that there are three factors of personality:

1. Personality is inherited: so, yes, your attributes reflects your parents. That’s why our parents would say “ah mana sakin yan, anak ko.”

2. Personality is influenced by our environment: I won’t explain the obvious.

3.Personality has been chosen by ‘your’ choice: In short, you are what you want yourself to be.

You’re the only one who knows yourself — your limitations, your abilities, your attitude — In 1 Corinthians 2:11, it says that “No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like, except that person himself.” and isn’t it true? That another reason why you shouldn’t feel bad if other people criticize you for the things that you are not.

Also, learn how to use your personality and talents for the glory of the Lord. Now, I understand what my mother means when she told me that sentence before. It’s because God gave us there special talents so we can give it back to him. When we do, the blessings are only going to multiply because God appreciates the little good things we do for Him. We all have different talents because we are all unique, and together all these differences form a larger sense of meaning.

1 Corinthians 12:27

All of you together are the one body of Christ and each of you is a separate and necessary part of it.

Your life becomes more significant, meaningful and fulfilling when you learn to be aware of your personality and accept other people’s differences as well. Take note that if you criticize others, that means that you are putting yourself as the BASIS and the center of truth. Never put yourself as the center of truth, because ONLY God is the only center of truth.

Romans 14:13

Let us stop turning critical eyes on one another. Let us rather be critical of our own conduct and see that we do nothing to make a brother stumble.

[ The Lord is so good to me, thank you for your overflowing blessings.]

AAJA Trivia Bowl - Los Angeles [Charity]

Friday 10/14: I have been a part of AAJA for a long time now. From being that “new student member” to a “chapter board member” — it’s been a long way from the beginning, and I just grew to love the people, the organization and their vision to help out other minority journalists who are just starting out in the media business. Not only did I meet new awesome friends, but I learned something bigger — I learned that a little help can go a long way — Tonight, I was shooting event photographs alongside NBCLA’s Photo/Videographer Juan; this is a big deal for me because I used to attend his ‘photography workshops’ and now, he considers me as a colleague and it really feels good to know that people who have already “made it” in the industry tells me that they believe in me and my abilities. Honestly, it only takes one person to believe in you.. and from there, it will be up to you to show’em what you’ve got.

I’ve got a whole lot of photos to edit.

Congratulations to the attorneys who won (once again) tonight’s competition.

California, You Have Been So Good To Me.

So here’s a little note from me to you.

Thank You.

Le Billet Doux (The Love Letter)

Le Billet Doux

(The Love Letter)

by Hanah Fadrigalan

My dearest gentleman,

Must it be the twinkle in your eye,

or your sweetest smile that caught

my heart drifting in the wind.

Perchance, you are a wizard

performing some magic on my soul

and a kind thief

entering my mind without permission.

Oh! merciful heavens, I have stolen

Cupid’s arrow and shot myself

right through the heart.

Tender and generous, you are;

a gentleman so kind and caring.

Your happiness will always be dear to me.

Though miles apart, we are bounded by

the spiritual knot that only the heavens

would know how to cut; the ropes, indestructible to mankind.

What is love, but just a name, good sir, it is more than just love,

the sight of your visage carries me through the days and nights;

such a man of honor and humanity, how I dear to see you again.

But till then, I will lull myself to sleep with the thoughts of you.

Adieu, monsieur amour.

"Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am."

-

Philippians 4:11-13 MSG (via romography)

Amen.
