It is true that you become closer to God when you are away from everything. Well, not literally being alone in the middle of nowhere.. but at this point of my life, I am away from the comfort zone, I am away from home, I am away from loved ones — but I never felt like I was in complete solitude, and it is because God is always there for me wherever I go. He gives me and supplies me with all the things that I’ll ever need in my life. He answers all my prayers, if not right away, He prepares me for it first and then He gives it to my when He thinks I can handle it.
Today, my friend Bleejay and I went to the church near our school. Though tired and feeling sick, I managed to get up and walk to church (in heels, yes) but it was so worth it. The lesson today was about using one’s God-given personality to the glory of the Lord. I learned that there are three factors of personality:
1. Personality is inherited: so, yes, your attributes reflects your parents. That’s why our parents would say “ah mana sakin yan, anak ko.”
2. Personality is influenced by our environment: I won’t explain the obvious.
3.Personality has been chosen by ‘your’ choice: In short, you are what you want yourself to be.
You’re the only one who knows yourself — your limitations, your abilities, your attitude — In 1 Corinthians 2:11, it says that “No one can really know what anyone else is thinking or what he is really like, except that person himself.” and isn’t it true? That another reason why you shouldn’t feel bad if other people criticize you for the things that you are not.
Also, learn how to use your personality and talents for the glory of the Lord. Now, I understand what my mother means when she told me that sentence before. It’s because God gave us there special talents so we can give it back to him. When we do, the blessings are only going to multiply because God appreciates the little good things we do for Him. We all have different talents because we are all unique, and together all these differences form a larger sense of meaning.
1 Corinthians 12:27
All of you together are the one body of Christ and each of you is a separate and necessary part of it.
Your life becomes more significant, meaningful and fulfilling when you learn to be aware of your personality and accept other people’s differences as well. Take note that if you criticize others, that means that you are putting yourself as the BASIS and the center of truth. Never put yourself as the center of truth, because ONLY God is the only center of truth.
Romans 14:13
Let us stop turning critical eyes on one another. Let us rather be critical of our own conduct and see that we do nothing to make a brother stumble.
[ The Lord is so good to me, thank you for your overflowing blessings.]
