Never gets old.

Are you thoughtful and kind? Do you care what’s on my mind?

Or am I just for show?

I spent my Saturday evening with this fine little lady. It’s always fun hanging out with her because despite the huge (I mean, like more than a decade) age difference, she and the rest of my cousins are always fun people to be around with. I’m glad our family raised us to be all tightly knitted to each other. They are not only my cousins, but also my best friends. :)

“ROCKING THE RED”
Who would’ve thought I could rock the red lipstick and a snakeskin tube top?
Today, I was teaching my brother Flexer how to do portrait shots and he used me as a model. All color corrections are done via Lightroom 4.

“SILVER SADDLE” Models: Clemence S. Castillo and Sean de Asis Photographer: Hanah Natalio-Fadrigalan Location: California City, CA Season/Year: Spring 2012 They are such flawless models. I didn’t even have to edit the face part - I only did some color correction and black&white manipulation. We were shooting under the scorching sun and on the desert part of CA - and yet I never heard one complaint that it was ‘hot” - thank you guys!

“CANDID SHOT” This was taken about two Sundays ago at church - I think it’s really, really cute. They didn’t know I was taking a photo, so this is just a raw picture of fatherhood and his love for his daughter.

Sent as an accidental text message, this quote, sent by a friend made me realize so many things in life. Sometimes being crushed and burned isn’t as bad as we thought.

“It is an infinite merit to be able to despair.”

Despair, in social definition, means to lose all hope or confidence. It means you’ve hit rock bottom. You don’t know what to do anymore. That’s it. You’ve collapsed. You’re trying to pick up the pieces of your shattered dreams and cracked heart. You have realized that you’re emotionally crippled. You have come to the point of realization that you are undone.

Though defined as such a pejorative term, being able to despair is an art. Merit comes to those who recognize their shortcomings. Once a person realizes that they have nothing, then they give themselves a chance to be or do something. A capacity for despair means that there is a chance to reform oneself - a room for transformation.

What a nice realization on a Saturday morning. :)

Sincerely,

Hanah (@girlalamode)
